Pharmaceutics is one of the core branch of pharmacy , it deals with the formulation and development of pure drug substance in to a dosage form , the branches of pharmaceutics includes : pharmaceutical technology, pharmaceutical engineering , formulative pharmacy , cosmetic technology , forensic pharmacy , also concern with the development of new drugs delivery systems with minmal side effects, The department aims to assist students towards achieving the expected level of performance and to acquire knowlwdge of new systems of drugs and delivery systems.
Pharmaceutics
Pharmaceutics department is concerned with the strategies by which biologically active compounds are presented to the body so as to elicit an optimal response. It includes the design, preparation and testing of drug delivery systems the department has a Machine room, Pharmaceutics Laboratory I (GP/DP Labs), Pharmaceutics laboratory II (Unit Operation Lab), Pharmaceutics Laboratory III( Micro biology Lab).
Pharmaceutical Microbiology laboratory
This Aseptic room of Microbiology Lab has facilities like BOD incubators, laminar Air flow, UV cabinet. Deep Freezer, Digital Oven Incubators, Cum Shakers, Bacterial Colony Counter and autoclaves.
Pharmacy practice laboratory
Pharmacy Practice is the discipline of
pharmacy which involves developing the professional roles of pharmacists.
Pharmacy Practice offers practicing pharmacists in-depth useful reviews and
research trials and surveys of new drugs and novel therapeutic approaches.The
Pharmacy Practice Lab is used by students to practice and master their drug
compounding and preparation skills in various dosage forms, including the
injectables before entering the workforce. A new cleanroom facility is included
in this lab.This course deals with the practical application of scientific and
clinical knowledge used in the provision of pharmaceutical care. Activities
include professionalism, communication skills, prescription compounding,
calculations, use and practice of drug information, physical assessment,
devices-use competency, adherence, and medication safety.
Pharmaceutics - This field is related to production of medicines and technology that is used in production of drugs used in pharmaceutical companies. Master of Pharmacy degree in pharmaceutics has scope in the formulations of drugs, research in formulations and excipients, manufacturing, drug regulatory affairs. The pharmaceutical industry is responsible for the development and distribution of a vast array of products and services. From lab scientists discovering drugs to pharmacists selling to the public, great pharmaceutical professionals are out there.
